Is there someone there who could get into GM's system for my car's history? I know it will have much of the same information that is on the build sheet but in addition the car's repair history and build completion date. The car was meticulously maintained, 36,000 miles, one owner and was always dealer serviced. (Or so I was told)!
Can someone out there get that history? I'm an old Marine vet and would gladly return the favor if I can. Just run it and Email me a copy? It would be a great addition to the maintenance book I am getting together for the car. I've had the car for 2 years now and all I have needed to do is change all the fluids, oil and filter, and the pan gaskets. Also replaced all the other rubber gaskets and seals we were able to get to while the car was apart.
Love this car. Just want to have the complete pedigree for my baby! Vin#1g1yy22g725119227

After I bought my car (an '01) I stopped by a nearby Chevrolet dealership and visited with the service manager. He was kind enough to look my car up in the system and print off everything they had on my car. The amount of information on my car was a bit disappointing. It was very comprehensive during the warranty period; but afterwards, there was very little (if any) information. If your previous owner did have all maintenance and repairs done at the dealership; then you should be able to get a lot of information. Perhaps not every Chevrolet service department will be as accommodating as the one I visited, but if you haven't tried that approach, you might want to.
