I was 59 when I got my 02 vert (almost 60). 22 when I got my fist C3, 24 when I got my second C3, 25 when I got my '69 Mako shark restomod, almost 30 when I got my '69 big block, 33 when I got my 74 coupe, 37 when I got my '85 C4, 39 when I got my '81 coupe. Haven't determined when the C7 or C8 will be necessary yet but I expect one.

Me too!
I am 65. Got my first Corvette three months ago - a 2003 Special Anniversary Ed. Convertible. For me it was the right idea at the right time. Love it. Appreciate it. Drive it.

On my 60th birthday my wife surprises me and says “ Go and order a new Corvette. You worked 40 years and you deserve it.” At the time we had a 65 two top convertible that I did a frame-off restoration on. Well, two months later we went to the pick up our 2004 MSG and tan convertible at the Corvette Museum. Great trip and great wife!
I had a 73 coupe at 41, a 65 vert at 48, a 94 coupe at 51, the 04 vert at 60 and my present 01 Black and Tan convertible at 72. I feel ageless driving the C5. Remember to Wave!

First Corvette when I was 30. 68 now, a few Corvettes in between, including an ‘03 C5 when I was 53.

Got my first Corvette, a C5 FRC about 6 months ago, I’m 33. Same age my Dad was when he bought his 78 Anniversary C3. He’s now 66.

IMO, as long as you are still able to drive and can afford the car, there isn’t a bad time to buy a C5 (or any Vette for that matter).

I purchased my 2001 Coupe in May of 2014 at the age of 66. First Corvette was purchased in 1969, it was a 63 Roadster.

I've had a number of Vettes through the years. After I retired in 2010, we sold everything, bought a 40' diesel motorhome that we lived and traveled in for over 6yrs.. 2 1/2 yrs. ago came off the road, built a home, and decided what the hell, lets get another Vette. I'm now 73, and intend to keep the car until I can't get in & out of it anymore. I've always been a car nut, having owned a couple 409's, Mustangs, a 69' GTO "Judge", Z-28, a Grand Prix 2+2, and other misc. cars. But this C5 is a keeper.

I think there are two things everyman should own once in his lifetime : 1 is a Harley-Davidson --- and for my 50th birthday present to me I bought a black and chrome 1200 Custom Sportster that I kept until last year and sold it due to my wife not being able to ride anymore plus the fact that inattentive drivers are running rampant out there so a motorcycle is a lot less safe these days. 2 is a Corvette ---and for my 60th birthday to me I bought a 2002 Speedway White w/gray leather auto coupe w/87000 miles on her. This was 5 years ago and there are no regrets at all. I think being a little older(and wiser) makes you appreciate all the hard work it took to obtain one and also the wisdom to properly operate one.
I've owned a 64-1/2 Mustang that was pushing 400 HP, a '69 GTO , '75 Trans-Am and a 1994 Mitzu 3000GT and I'm having more fun with my Vette than all the others combined.

Funny you should mention owning a Harley. I rode motorcycles for 47 years. Owned just about every make and model under the sun at one time or another except a Harley. They just never appealed to me. I've ridden several of them, including some fairly late model Harleys, and every time I got off, I just didn't get the appeal of these bikes. They sound nice, but other than that, they don't have a lot to offer. The HD cult thing just never sunk in for me...

Got my 04 at 66
I had a 73 coupe at 21 and sold it when I tied the knot. Missed it from the day the new owner drove it out of my driveway. At 66 I found the C5 I had been looking for for two years. A LeMans edition coupe in mint shape with 23,000 miles and original owner. He was 71! He was miticulous about the car and had every maintanance and repair record since day one and had just put on a set of Mich. run flats all around. Not one thing to do but drive it. I saw it and knew that moment that car was coming home with me. Drove it home from PA to the southern tier of NY and never missed a beat. Always thought the C5 was the nicest body style of any vette. BTW. The 71 yr. old guy I bought it from, bought a 2017 one week later!
