Sorry i don't fit the criteria for this thread although i am going to be 65 in December. I have owned mine for 21 years, and enjoy it
just as much today as i did when it was new.
I was 57 when I got a new 99 C5,had 3 C4s and one 82 C3 now a 2009 C6 my last vette,enjoyed all of them!! Had 4 C5s the 2004 Z-06 Z16 was best C5 I owned.
Got my 04 C5 recently at 74. Doesn't get driven a lot cause I have to clean it up every time I drive it here in bug land. I do go out and look at it a lot however.
I have raced a front engine dragster, raced fat block camaro"s , built Harleys and ran them,first time a C5 owner at 67,different life experience now, bad *** car.
When I turned 65, I bought my first Corvette, an '89 Convertible, red/red. 3 1/2 years later I added a '95 Convertible/ red/red. At age 70 I found a 2002 Convertible, red/red and traded the 1989, what a difference but still liked the C4 styling. Then 3 years later (at age 73) in 2014 I saw a new Sting Ray Convertible, red/adrenaline red and ended up trading my '95, so now have the '02 and '14. Hard to let go of the C5 though have had offers made several times. Had driven friends Corvettes in my 20's and 30's so have wanted one since that time. back in 1967 I ordered a new Camero with just power equipment, had a lot of fun with it and called it the "poor man's corvette". But glad now have the Corvettes
I was 62 when i bought my 2002 Z-51 vett. I still have it, 40k of highway driving. Paint looks brand new, all stock. It is old school, just the way I like it!
I was 66 when I bought my first, 1996LT4CE. I sold it in 2012. I am now 82 and bought a 2000 Red Vert. last week. Looking forward to driving and going to some shows.
