Anyone remove that middle storage compartment in the trunk?
Debating removing that useless storage compartment when I do my TR6060 swap so I can run my exhaust differently like a C6. Has anyone done this, and if so what did you do to patch or repair the giant hole?

I inquired about it some time back and got a few responses. This isn't my photo but a member on the FB group I moderate posted this. He said the tub was cut straight across and the material bonded into what was left (hence why it still kind of has a hang down below it). I would imagine if you weren't concerned about trunk aesthetics you could just bond something on the inside for even more room but the bonded material may be more noticeable if you don't run a trunk cover.
If you were doing a TR6060 you could also run a C6Z exhaust which over most all C5 cat-backs is going to give you more HP.
My inquiring about it was so I could possibly run a more central exhaust like what this owner did. I'm continuously disappointed with how most all C5s seem to run either four or two tails. Wouldn't mind seeing something more aggressive that is large and rectangular like from a Boxster, Evora, newer Lambo, etc.

I believe member DanZglass removed his center cubby to make room for his custom turbo setup.

I like the post above, cool tips, but don't think I would ever bother...

if I knew for sure that I would pick up considerable gains by doing this and going to a 3" c6z setup I would probably do it but I have a feeling that the gains may not be worth the effort
