First off, congrats on the family and new addition. Kids are fun too but no where near as cheap as your new car. Congrats on the steal of a deal also. If you're good with a wrench it will be cheaper to maintain. Best of luck to you. Mine's a '98 too and love it. Great job with the video.

I just happened to see your youtube video yesterday and then this thread today. Congrats on a great deal. I've had a lot of cars in the last 24 years (22 total) and my C5 is definitely my favorite. The C5 is a great, timeless car that easily competes with the C6's and C7's when built properly.

Congrats on your new C5 and a great deal. Hopefully you can get another 100K+ trouble-free miles out of it. Also, I'd stay away from car wash brushes as they are nasty dirty from the last car. I couldn't do that even to a daily driver.

Congrats and great deal... Find some new seats, a new tiger shark bumper, and you are golden.

Best of luck on the new addition to your family. You are starting out living life large. I was 50 before my first Vette. Was into Trans AMs before.

Good video BTW.

Awesome buy! My car was in about the same condition but only had 115k miles when I bought it a year ago. Check it out on YouTube - search for “My Corvette Life”.

Good Luck!

Congrats! You did very well. Love white C5’s.
Your video quality is the best I’ve seen, dunno what camera you used, but it looks great in full screen view.
If you want to replace the seat covers/foam, RIDIES.COM offers the best quality and flexibility in design. Mine are from their sister company but I think Ridies is easier to communicate with.

Regarding the car wash brush, if it’s the one that’s at the facility the others here have a point, however, I have 2 real horsehair brushes that are about 60 years old. They were given to my father in law by the former head mechanic at one of Hertz’ Newark Airport’s rental facility. They have been only used to wash cars, I’ve had them since the late 60’s and are rinsed and allowed to air dry after every use. Ain’t no scratches from them!
By all means go to a track. Do one with an instructor, good driving/handling is a learned skill.

Default Thanks for the feedback! Here's another video!

Seriously I appreciate all the good words of encouragement from everyone and the congratulations! I made another video it's not about my Vette tho it's about my old GMC Sierra and how it got me my wife lol (she's not that into vettes) but there's a neat suprise at the end! Check it out!
