I think the first wheel would look great, if the center and hoops were the same Gloss Gray, with black or polished fasteners. Those Classics would look great, just the way they are, now.
I'm trying to decide between a Brushed Smoke Clear or a Matte Bronze finish, for my SP500's.

Looks to me that the posted wheels are grey center black rim. I think they are nicer than full black, which I agree with E/T and other completely. However after seeing the second set of wheels , I was hooked. One thing I would change, however is to a less spokey design. I had C7Z06 chrome repros and they were a nightmare to care for. I can generate a couple of ‘sample pix’ if I can find a machine silver C5 side view.

Not for a fun car as the C5 Corvette is with the soft lines of a gorgeous babe! Like putting boots on a bikini model, IMHO and since you asked.

In my opinion, no matter how clean your tires and wheels are, all black wheels will make your tires look dull and dirty. As someone else said, it makes the car look almost like you are trying to hide the wheel style in an all black cave at each fender opening. Just my 2 cents.

I like the first choice if they are not just “black” for a silver or light color car. Aren’t they black chrome or charcoal? they don’t look like just gloss black to me. I would love the second choice for my dark blue car.

I think the wheels in your first pic would look great with your silver car. They look like a comp gray color which I like much better than a black wheel.

When they arrive, the 18x9.5's and 19x11's are going to the powdercoater, for a custom finish. No more polished or Black wheels, for my TR Z.

I have a black wheels with a deep polished lip on my torch red 2003. The lip on the front is about 1" and the rears are about 2.5". I was initially going to go for all black wheels but my wife convinced me to get the polished lip. I have to say I think she convinced me to make the right choice. The lip adds much needed contrast.

The Photograph of this wheel looks nice. But for me, Dark wheels or black wheels are a missed opportunity to show off your car. Dark wheels get lost in the shadows. I see lots of cars today with dark wheels and they do not impress me. Its simply a matter of taste.

The tires are already black, as is the "open area" between the tires and fender openings themselves, so IMHO, black wheels add even more "blackness" to this area. Makes it look like there are two black "holes" in the side of the car, but that's just me.....

Chrome wheels are super easy to keep clean...polished wheels on the other hand can be a royal pain to keep looking nice unless they have some sort of sealant on them to keep them from oxidizing...

The all black look is a current trend and I don't care for it. Too much black. Vehicles that have this look seem to me like they're trying out for a scene in the next Batman movie...

I believe the 1st wheel looks good on its own, but when mounted and on the car, they lose their luster. Wheels really can set off a car and that's lost when you can't see the defining lines in the wheel. But to each their own. Buy what you want to see on your own car! Who gives a damn what I like!
