C5 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
More change to the exterior and interior, C7Carbon and Double Din
Ever since I paid off my daily driver and got my c5 running been making some long desired changes to the car, feel like when I'm done with this round of mods I will be close to having my car DONE(famous last words), just need a hood.
Recently installed TPE wide fenders and super deep concave F14 wheels. Next up am installing the following and will document it in this thread...
c7Carbon extended spoiler
c7Carbon zr1 side skirts
c7Carbon vented splitter
metra double din bezel
sony XAV-AX200
eRapta ERT02 backup camera
relocating afr gauge from ash tray to steering wheel column via autometer
smoked led 3rd brake light
black corvette lettering
removing apsis c6z mud flaps
removing coolingmist methanol system
I anticipate having issues installing the c7 vented splitter because of the lowered radiator support from my SC, modified scoop and intercooler duck bill. Hope I don't have to hack the crap out of the splitter for it to go on, but will see. Was hoping someone with experience putting it on could chime in with some tips but didn't have any luck getting someone to speak up.
Given both of my wife's and my daily drivers have had backup cameras for the last 5 years I have been bothered by my c5 not having one. I back into every spot I park at and have reached a point where I don't want to go without a backup camera when I don't have to. Swapping out my pioneer 80prs deck for a sony double din with android auto.
The last of the parts are showing up today, will get started tonight and take a lot of pics as I work on these projects over the next week. With any luck I won't get stung by a scorpion again rolling around on my creeper under the car, got to love AZ.

Got lucky with the baby going down a little early tonight. Had a good start on the rear of the car. All parts came in.
Disconnected battery, took out the license plate assembly, all tail lights with t15 socket. Then disconnect 3rd brake light with 7mm socket reaching up through license plate assembly hole.
Once everything was out I ran the tapping screws once through the new 3rd brake light holes to tap them. Then installed that.
Next installed Camera to license plate assembly behind plate. Then used t-taps to the left reverse light pigtail. Green is power black is negative. Then I drilled a 3/8 hole through the rear tub on the driver side and ran my wire out to the camera.
Lastly lined the top of bumper with painters tape. Removed the 4 11mm bolts on the c7carbon spoiler and test fitted the spoiler. It fit very well. I sharpied an outline of where the spoiler sat, along with marking on the bottom edge of the tape where the bolt holes lined up.
Then put small pieces of double sided sticky tape over the bolt holes and put a small dab of antiseeze on the double sided tape. Then I placed. The spoiler back into place marked where the antiseeze touched, covered up the marks, did the same exercise again. Split the difference of the marks and started drilling a small pilot hole. Then I slid my pilot drill bit up through the bottom drilled hole while test fitting spoiler. On 3 of my holes I was spot on the bit came up the bottom and right into the spoiler bolt hole. One of the holes I was off an 1/8 of an inch. Easily fixed by slotting the pilot hole toward the bolt hole with the main drill bit. I believe the main bit size will be 3/8 might use 1/2. Would have been nice to have a template but it's not rocket science to install the spoiler.
That's it for tonight.

Spoiler is done, would give fitment 9/10. Camera cable is run to the radio bezel, next up Metra bezel, afr gauge remount and Sony double din install. Going to be a few days till I get back at it.

what did you put on the wheel walls I know it leaves a big gap when installing the TPE wide fenders?

I am very interested in how you installed the C7 Carbon ZR1 side skirts. I just bought a set in gloss black and they are here. I have not installed them yet. Im not too keen on drilling holes into the car - especially, if they can be seen IF the side skirt was removed. I was with the understanding that the holes, would be drilled on the bottom side (could not be seen). It looks though, that is not the case.
After going though my 6 hour caravaggio spoiler removal I decided to remove almost all the double side sticky tape and go with the bolts only. Will let around to the skirts hopefully by next weekend.

It is, I like it and with the Cree reverse bulbs they are ultra bright.
