Default 04 Z06 Shock Upgrade for 01...

So it looks like the OEM front shocks for the 04 Z06 are discontinued...

However, according to this link, http://www.kandbcorvetteproducts.com...and-driveline/, SACH 030 281 is equivalent. Can anyone confirm that this is the case? If not where can I source a set of OEM front shocks? I already have the rears so I don't want to switch to another brand for the sake of consistency.

I believe the C6 Z06 shocks are a direct fit as they were for my C5 coupe. They are still available from forum vendor Gene Culley.

C6z shocks are direct fit and were a very nice upgrade on my 02z.

Any of the C6 shocks can be used on a C5, besides the magnetic ride ones. C6 base- softest ride. C6 Z51- firmer ride. C6 Z06- firmest OEM ride. Firmer generally equals better handling.

Not sure if the 01 Z06 had the plastic endlinks or not on the sway bars, but if you do have plastic endlinks, now is a good time to upgrade to the metal ones. The plastic ones are most likely worn out by now.

I agree with the above - the C6 Z06 shocks are a good choice.

What I was told is that is the C6 Z06 shock, by a large volume Corvette dealer--he also runs HPDE/Time Trials. It is different from the 04Z shocks but close to the 01-03Z shocks. Unless you are into autocrossing/time trials/ HPDE, you will probably not notice any difference. It is when you are looking for that last 0.5 second that it will show up.

Suggest blow and extra few dollars and get the DRM Bilsteins. Big step up in ride quality, build quality IMHO
