Default 900+ rwhp guys what trans and rear setups you running ?

Hey guys a little of what’s going on. I currently have a 99 c5. Recently bought a 402ci stroker engine. I was running a stock ls1 with ecs 2000 supercharger kit. Stage 5 rpm trans and z06 342 rear. Should be making somewhere north of 850+ rwhp. On e85. My builder and a couple other are telling me to swap my trans and rear for a rpm powerglide and irs 9inch rear. So I’m just here to see what other guys with that kind of rwhp are running. Will mostly be a street car with a 15 inch conversion. Might see the track for a shootout or 2. Thanks for the input guys.

if staying 6 speed then a tr6060 and diff from a zr1, grand sport, or z06 (08+) would probably be your best bet and then have it gone through unless you want to spend big money on a dog box, aftermarket gear sets, etc... all 3 trans have different ratios so that would need to be taken into account as well, rear gears are all the same but the zr1 does have a more robust diff case

Just a lot of money guys. Got a quote from rpm and I’m looking at about 18.5k in just parts. Anyone running 1000 rwhp on a built 4l60 ? Performabuilt says they have an almost anything goes warranty. Idk just hard to wrap my head around 18.5 in just parts when I just did a stroker engine. 😂🔨. Anyone have a used powerglide set up for sale ?

Andy Fernandez, Administrator on the C5 Modified facebook page, is offering a TH400 conversion for cars with serious horsepower. If you're not on FB, I can probably find out his contact info.

If its mostly a streetcar I'd stay with a RPM 4L60 and a C6Z or C6 ZR1 diff. My trans lasted a long time driving hours back and forth to the track, ran 8's and drove home with the AC on. Full discloser, I did break the hardened input shaft, and was told I was the first one ever to have that happen. Your car will be much more streetable with the 4L60. If you want to go powerglide, make sure you use a speed calculator to find out what your cruising RPM's will be. You might be surprised how high it will have to rev on the highway with a powerglide
