Default National Corvette Museum

My first trip to the National Corvette Museum. Every Vette enthusiast should get there at least once.

This is a little video tour of the place. A mix of all generations. Looking down the sinkhole was just eeerie. What an awesome place!

I was getting ready to tell you to stop being such a buzzkill...and then I watched the vid.

I have to agree. Cool video, but the sound effects get annoying after the first 30 seconds.

Music to my ears- LoL!

But seriously- In the past when I put music in my videos youtube would block some of the songs due to copyright issues. There was no consistency to why- some would get blocked and others would not.

Car sounds- no problem at all. The soundtrack you are hearing is from Englishtown, NJ Raceway park. I set the camera up at the track and recorded the sounds of the day, I use it as background audio instead of silence.

Thanks!
Jim

Not only should every Corvette owner visit the museum, but they should also head over to the factory and do a tour(when they open back up). To top it all off, drive your Vette to Bowling Green and have a "homecoming." That's what my wife and I did a couple of years ago and we had a blast driving the Z06 "home."

I've been there twice. The first time was about a month after the sink hole happened. They had that room closed off, and all of the damaged cars on display without any repairs.

Then I went last September. I love the place. My nipples are hard the whole time I was in there.

I really want to go back with just my wife, and take the Z06. I'd love to pay for the 30 minutes on the track.

First and only time I was there was right before the Cadillac XLR came out - so you could see some parked on the grounds around the plant as well as parts inside. It was cool to see the C5 on the production line.

Took a road trip on my motorcycle there with my uncle. Ironically he sold his 1980 Corvette to get the bike he rode.

And now I'm ready to sell my motorcycle to get my first Corvette after wanting one since I was 15.

I agree especially with the Homecoming.
Been to a few with my C3. Just an all around great time.

If you get a chance to visit the Museum, consider becoming a member while there - it's a great way to help support preserving the history of the Corvette.

I really appreciate you for taking the time to post the video. I liked everything about it, including the sound effects. I visited the Museum a few years ago, making the trip in my ‘02. The 1000 mile round trip is the longest I’ve made in my Corvette and as much as I enjoyed the Museum and factory tour, the drive was the highlight for me. Like others have mentioned, I too hope to return for another visit once the factory tours start again.

Somehow I think it may be a while for tours. They are probably in super-secret mode while gearing up for the C8! I look forward to seeing the factory.

My wife and I did that tour in 2017, as well as the assembly plant, it was all so cool! Will never forget it, one of the best trips I’ve been lucky enough to participate in.

My wife, then girlfriend, took my there a few years ago as a surprise. We did the museum tour, I think the factory tour was unavailable for some reason. We took the Corvette down there, which was kind of neat. I was surprised to not see many other Vetts in the lot. We only live a couple hours away, so it was a nice little day trip. Anyway, I guess I'm not a 'look but don't touch' kind of person. I was pretty bored by the end of the tour, and probably won't bother going back. Frankly I think I would have gotten more out of the factory tour.

I wanted to go this summer but I won't go unless I can also tour the plant. I live in north central PA, too far and I'm too old to jump in the car and make the trip, especially dragging oxygen along.

Love the NCM! Been there twice...once was the 20th Anniversary caravan/celebration. Doing it again this August for the 25th. One of the best times ever with my Vette!

And yeah, become a member and support the NCM if you can - we are SO fortunate to have the museum as a part of our hobby!
