If you can afford it, now is a great time to buy a C7. Dealers are giving massive discounts. Some below GM employee pricing.

Only one man's opinion, but just because something looks better on paper doesn't mean it's a move up. I wouldn't swap my C5 for a C7 for free. I look at my C5 and think "Woo Hoo!" I look at a C7 and think, "meh"

I haven't driven one but everybody I talk to says it is a major step forward in ride. The C5 I bought I am impressed with the looks, I think they look great but as far as ride goes the cars are dated compared to the newer stuff.
I do not like the fact that on the newer cars you have to get the electronics coded by the dealer ? also I have seen very few C7's that look great but SOME DO....

Same as above. I like many Corvette models, but the C7 is not one of them (along with the C3 and C4). To me it's not a move up. But if you like it, want it, can afford it... go for it.

I made the jump from a 2003 C5 to a 2014 C7. Do I regret it - heck no. The C7 is a much more capable car. That doesn’t mean the C5 is a bad vehicle. I thoroughly enjoyed my last C5 for over nine years and I enjoyed the ‘00 C5 I had before that for over seven years. If you like the looks, technology and ride of a C7, by all means look into buying one. Is a C7, especially a new one, worth what the difference in cost would be - only you can decide that. I went used and got a very good deal on a 2600 mile car that was in mint condition.
Just remember that a C5 is a reliable, comfortable and very good performance car and can still turn heads going down the street as well as put a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel.

I owned a C7 Grand Sport and thoroughly enjoyed that car. It was/is an amazingly capable Corvette. I would still own it if I had no problem with $65k tied up in what is essentially a toy to me. But, I do. So, it was sold and I returned to my first Corvette model owned, the venerable C5. Much cheaper toy but equally as fun.

I wouldn't mind a C7, as a matter of fact I really wouldn't mind a C7Z black on black. But as far as turning heads, a friend of mine has a C7 and I've been out cruising with him quite a few times. Believe it or not, my c5 is the one that gets the looks and thumbs up. C7's are everywhere around here, maybe that's why. But if I could afford a C7 as a second car, I'd get one.

The wife will be in the market for a Vette herself in about 2 months and she has decided on a manual admiral blue C7. She thinks she is gonna have the faster Vette.

The guy I bought my C5 convertible from lives a couple of houses away from me.
We have been friends for quite a while.
Matter of fact, I was with him when he bought the c5.
Rode in it many times before buying it, and often the subject of the C7's came up, and Bob always had the same thing to say about them.
"They are ugly, and I would never buy one".
Well, the reason I have his 04 convertible is because he bought a 2014 C7 convertible.
He had a change of heart I guess.
It looks nice( dark green, with what I would call a buckskin color interior, and top.) but I like the looks of the C5 better.
True, his C7 is fast, nice ride, but it does nothing for me.
Never asked what he paid for it, but the mileage when he bought it was 11,000 miles.
I'M guessing somewhere around $39,000, give or take a few.
Better him than me, my C5 is paid for.
