The fully capable dic diagnostic functions are pretty damn unique and left off the list. Codes from all modules with no scanner AND the ability to reset the engine light...thats a big deal.

Default Thanks.

Thanks for sharing.
I agree. Some say otherwise, but the design seems timeless to me. The power is great. And the pop up headlights are fantastic.

Gotta agree with all of that. If you get a good example the fun/$ is hard to beat today.
I remember when these came out an all aluminum V8 was a big deal, today I have one in my pickup.

Heads up is way over rated. My car was built before it. I do have it in our Buick LaCrosse. I have it on and it disappears in the windshield, and it works properly. Totally unnecessary. There are many more things on the C5 that are more useful. IMO.

I agree, this is a really neat feature that the author overlooked. I suspect there are a lot of C5 owners out there that don't know this is possible (perhaps he is one of those?) The steps to get to it are nuanced (to say the least) and one must search out the index of codes.

My wife gets a real kick out of the pop up headlights and she laughs every time I turn the lights on or off. Sure, there are some downsides- but a car that makes something as simple as turning the lights on and off an event...is special. Reminds me a lot of my dad's '70 Stingray- which is nostalgic for me

The wipers also do a bit of a tuck in when turned fully off and I use the automatic seat and telescoping steering wheel feature. I'm pretty sure I can thank that feature for my side bolsters being in good shape even though they are 18 years old and have seen 108,000 miles.

I can only add that my favorite feature is turning the key and listening to that lovely stock exhaust note on first start up. Makes me smile every time.

I bought my first Corvette last summer, a C5, and after reading everyone's comments I like it even more. What makes my C5 special to me is what the curves on the hood and fenders, when I'm behind the wheel, remind me of.

I'm glad I have an FRC - no targa issues. I wish the HUD were a bit brighter for daytime use. Surprised no mention of the rear-mounted trans and the weight-balance advantage it brings. Great seeing the accolades for this car continue to pour in years later
