2023 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
C2 of Year Finalist (stock) 2019
I came to the same conclusion initially - as SLOWRYDE says, the "G" indicates an LS1 engine. I would have agreed with C4CRUISER, but how to explain the brake cooling duct ahead of the rear wheel? I've never seen a standard coupe with that feature. The paperwork from new shows it as a lease car from CT, and only one other owner. I agree that an LS6 could have been dropped in, and badging applied to the fenders, but there's absolutely no signs of 'mods'. I've had six C5's, including two ZO6's, and never seen one like this.

Great insights, and discussion. Just to be clear, the dealer, Portsmouth Chevrolet, wasn't advertising it as a "Z", just a straight coupe. Someone just wanted to dress it up, and did a respectable job. There's no question that it's a 'faux-Z'. It's going to auction this week...
