My New C5: I知 Now Officially a Corvette Bro!
After months of research and looking, I’ve finally bought my first Corvette. It’s a beautiful black 2001 hatchback with all the options, with a mere 29,000 miles on it. It even came with the ORIGINAL stock tires still on it, revealing the unabused nature of this garage queen. It still has a paper barcoat sticker on the suspension. Damn is this things fast! I’ve got new Michelin PS3 arriving Tuesday.
It came with SLP headers and full 2 1/4” exhaust, and the heads were ported and polished according to the seller, as well as a great Hurst shift kit. It sounds sick, sick, SICK!! The exhaust tip is the best I’ve seen. Everything else is stock, as far as I can tell.
I’ve got a road trip planned to Northern California from Portland Oregon for next week, and I am SOOO looking forward to car camping my way down south. I LOVE driving this car. So much fun for $14,600.
Things it needs:
The power side bolster on the drivers side of the drivers side seat is broken.
Passenger side power mirror has something wrong with the internals making it move weirdly.
Minor scratches in the black paint that should buff out.
Minor engine oil pan leak.
Oil weeping in the rear-end.
Plans for it:
New Michelin PS3 tires
A wicked stereo system with subs.
Wrap it in a matte safety green or bright orange or a printed Mad Max theme. (To protect the stock paint and make it look even better.)

If the oil pan is leaking change the pcv assembly ($125 hose assembly) as they get clogged with baked up oil and cause crankcase pressure buildup which typically blows out an oil pan gasket. You have a 2 piece oil pan. With the pan off you can take the lower plenum apart and clean out any sludge that may be festering there.

Melting Slicks
Welcome to the Corvette family! She looks killer and I bet sounds mean with full exhaust. Here's to many years of smiles every time you sit inside.
