Came out of convenience store to 2 guys washing their car next door...they thought...
I came out of the local gas station/convenience store...grabbed some water. Next door is a car wash place, and I park toward that direction going into the store. I come over, see a couple guys wiping and waxin. I know the one guy because he works at a local store. I say, "just cause you got a car, you wanna be waxin that b*tch" (it's a play off an old ICP skit, called player hater ID...but anyway...don't worry he didn't get it either). So, anyway he is like yeah, just like to keep my car clean, I'm still payin on it. He traded in a Cadillac, driving this Camry sport. I'm like...yeah, I hate washin this f*ckin thing...black cars are a pain in the ***. I'm missing my old satin pearl wrap frankly...this glossy black sh*t is for the birds.
Anyway...he's like, yeah they look good though. So we continue briefly and I'm like, I have to really keep at it, because the brakes dust up the wheels quick, etc. He is like...really? He's like "is that a new car, big brake type of thing...my Camry Sport is pretty bad." I'm like, no...more of a pad selection issue, these pads put off a lot of dust but bite hard when warm. He says, "what year is that car...a '13 or '14?" I'm like..."hell no, this old hoopty is way older than that." He's like..."really...I don't know Corvettes but you're car strikes me as brand new." I was like..."well thanks bruh...that's what I'm after!" LOL...
The old skank is still doin work I guess...lol. My gf's car is 10yrs old, but yet 7yrs newer than mine and hers strikes me as new, being a C6 with the LS3...lol. Crazy some folks eyes, and how they respond to just an update in color/rim/brake scheme, and certain mods, a little stance. He basically just was like, "I've seen Ferrari 458's with that black and yellow scheme, I just felt it looked new. I was like...well, that's what I was plannin, see...lol.
He is right on all accounts! I chose blue over black because it is easier to keep clean, my Wilwood pads dust by just looking at them, and C5s can definitely look amazing!

Blue looks amazing on a C5. Good choice. There's so many beautiful cars in each C5OTY section, it was really difficult to choose a favorite.
I'll have to find something more entertaining for you fellas here next time. I ain't got no friends and no one to talk to...I figured I'd tell my little lame *** story.....and all I get is the hate bombs
Reading "All Corvettes are Red" and about half way through. First quarter of that book, you hear Chuck Jordan saying the car needs more reach all the time. The C5 has more reach than any car I can think of. Amazing how appealing it is still all these years later.
