Would someone pay $39,800 for this 15 year old Z06 with 1,200 miles?

hell no, because for that much you can find a very base model C7.

Worth at least $5K less than that.

Take a look at car emotions inventory. and their sold listings... they aren't going to lose any sleep over a slowly selling c5. but note the c7 z06 vert incoming......

I love, LOVE C5 Z06's. Favorite car maybe ever, but I don't think I'd spring that much.
$29k, and I'm all over it tho. NICE CAR!!!!

Any more, I'm hesitant to be too skeptical about ask'n vs sell'n. I've seen some C5Zs go for WAY more than I would have ever expected. Not quite as high as that, but pretty close. So, if those sold, don't laugh too loud on this one.
My personal opinion is that people with more money than brains have driven the price of them up way beyond rational. But, if someone is willing to pay, then I guess that's really the value. I can't explain the cult following and the apparent disregard as to price that many buyers have. For that money, give me a newer car any day. I like C5s and all, but holy f, that thing probably only sold for a couple thou more when it was brand new with a warranty.
Color me in disbelief.

I wouldn't pay that much and I like C5 Z06s.

You can buy a nice C6 for that kind of money. Which is what I would do. But everybody is different in their way of thinking. Im more into convertibles than race cars.

Seems nuts to me, could have a nice c6z for that and I like the look of C5s better.

Well it is the top of the line z06, they don’t even list it correctly for what it is...a z16. At a big auction like BJ I could see someone pay that much. Anywhere else I think low 30’s would be reasonable for a mint condition, extremely low mile z16

$40K for that C5.....NOPE!

A car...any car...is worth exactly what you can sell it for. What each individual would pay for it is inconsequential to what the actual buyer would pay and the actual seller would take. That is the pure definition of selling cars. Since the seller has a long history of selling like vehicles, I am going to assume they are closer to right than us bystanders!
