Default Who still has their Corvette garaged?

I have two sports cars and only insure one at a time. I have an '05 SSR and a '03 vert Corvette. Half the season I get the SSR on the road and for the other half the Corvette (after the roads are fixed) I get stressed with having the Corvette sit so long in the garage...anyone else???

I have multiple cars, but I want the ability to drive them whenever I want so all have insurance.

Yes, my C5 is garaged most of the time but, that's due to job travel demands of 6-8 weeks away but, the policy is always in effect. Same status for the Aston Martin DB9 but, I have insurance out the wazoo for that. The '86 Vette I'm trying to get finished up on restoration is something I do not carry insurance on, as it's not licensed to legally drive. Trust me, I'd like to be home a little more often to break up those long dormant periods. So, I feel you on that.

It is what it is.

No one else is paying your insurance so enjoy it how you wish.

Almost July, and my car has only been driven twice. Mother Nature has been a beeyotch this year. Like most of the country, it seems to rain here every other day at best. Sometimes just for a couple hours, but enough to jack up all the streets. Many car shows and meets have been cancelled or rescheduled for later. I don't think we have had one completely rain-free weekend yet in 2019.

EDIT: Just checked the forecast for the weekend in Chicagoland. 90 degree temps and occasional rain storms on both Saturday and Sunday. See?

Is it that much to have them both insured at the same time? You can tell the company you only drive it a couple thousand miles a year, and should only be a couple hundred difference in $ policy.

We can't seem to get a break from the ran for more than a day or two - it's insane. Took mine to work on Tuesday - it rained unexpectedly... it's dirty now and as long as I don't wash it the weather will be clear most likely. Summer temps finally here though - thankfully the A/C is working just fine.

Isn't that the way it works? If you want more rain, just wash the car.

Mother Nature and I are also playing the "when to mow the lawn" game. It rains, ground gets soaked. Sun comes out. Ground needs at least 2 days to dry enough to mow. I get the lawnmower out on the second day, then it rains again. Repeat.

Mine is ALWAYS in the garage. But it's not because of storing it. Here in SC I can drive all year around.

Always garaged. Living below a 14,110 ft weather changer, bad stuff can happen quickly.

I do not get mine out all that much right now so yes it is garaged and I pay insurance on it, but it is my choice on driving it or not. No sense in getting stressed about it. If it worries you, insure it and drive it more.

Just bought mine end of March 50th AE, just broke 5,000 miles for the year so far, only had 11,000 on it when I bought it, trips to east coast, Florida and Minnesota have helped, love it

Aren’t you supposed to turn in your tags if you don’t have insurance?

We have 4 vehicles, all of them insured at all times. It’s really not expensive and it means I can drive any car any time I want, and don’t have to worry about insurance.

When I had my C5, I shut the insurance off in the winter and didn't drive it. Now that I have a C6 that's worth 4x as much, I leave it on and drive it when the roads are clean. Go figure.

So far this year, my car has had 3 months of down time due to repair projects. And it's getting ready for as much as 3 weeks of additional down time for the heads... Wonderful eh?
