Picked up this mag red vert the other day and it has the polished wheels. I'm more of a fan of black wheels as they look a little less low key. Also, I live a mile up a dirt road and black wheels don't show the dirt/dust so much.

I'm debating getting mine painted or coated black but wanted to see how they look first. I thought about plastic dipping them to see and if I didn't like it I could scrape it off but then thought other's might have them and post them up here. Thanks!

No matter what you do with the wheels - I think the tan top won't really help the look you're after. Congrats on the car though. I picked up an 01 mag red coupe a couple of months ago with a black interior- great color.

Painting or dipping your wheels black will cheapen the look of your fine automobile. That's just my opinion. Do what makes you happy.

I guess I'll be the first to post a red C5 with black wheels!
The day to day wheels are chrome, but I have C4 Grand Sport wheels with autocross tires for autocross events. Not exactly what you might have been looking for, but it might give you some idea of what your Vette might look like if you go with black wheels. These are 17x9.5 up front and 17x11 in the back.

I think the polished wheels make the car look classy and elegant while the black wheels give it more of a tough working class performance oriented look. Still undecided so I guess I'll just leave them polished for now. I have to replace the rear tires soon though so I need to make up my mind.

Don't do it - Keep the polished wheels! Best looking wheels with Mag Red!
