Before spending a lot of money on a replacement emblem, post a wanted to buy thread in the C5 Parts for Sale section. People do put ones they have taken off their car up for sale every now and then and a number of them look to be in very good shape - all that is needed is replacement double sided tape.
I'm puttin away my toothbrush on that front emblem........took it off, threaded the pins with a 12-24 die, now it is removable with machine nuts underneath.

I tried to remove mine entirely and was unpleasantly surprised to find the guide holes under the emblem. I removed the ring around the emblem before replacing.
