A little back ground on myself before I pose my question. I have been in the automotive industry for over 30 years. Bern a hot rodder all my life. Owner and operated a hot rod fab shop for 13 years. Sold my business 4 years ago and went to work for a very elite automotive museum and lead paint and body. Fabricator and restoration specialist. I love the hot rod industry more the pro touring style of builds. Only of late have I joined the Corvette scene. I miss the car shows in that industry. SEMA. Goidguys shows and even street rod nationals now they have opened up to cars 30 years and older.
So, with all that said I feel that cars of the late 90s to present day. I'm referring to cars like corvettes, mustangs yes I said it. Chargers. Vipers camaros. You get the picture American muscle cars of late model heritage are left out of these types of shows.
I miss seeing all the show cars. Manufacturer's midway and autocross runs at these types of shows.
I don't believe there is anything like this for our types of cars..
I would love to see a show as described.
if there where enough interest I have the means and connections to put this together. Just looking for feed back and interest in something like this.
let me hear your thoughts.

Corvettes are not muscle cars, they're sports cars. They fit in better at shows with other sports cars (of any manufacturer domestic or foreign) rather than with Chargers, Camaros, Mustangs, etc.

I can't say I agree with that. But that's what I'm asking for feed back..
90's kids are really interested in the Japanese tuner stuff. If you make a show for 80's/90's sportscars I wouldn't limit it to muscle.
not necessarily looking fir the years of the car owners more the years of the cars that are excluded from other shows.
I would like to avoid tuner cars.
Have you attended any of the shows at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, PA? Such as GM Nationals, Ford Nationals and Corvettes at Carlisle; all are great events focusing on new and old alike.

I have but it has been several years ago. Most shows for later model cars are brand oriented. I thought it would be nice to see other brands.
Look up the youtube channel Cars across Texas, they get tons of cars down there that show up from exotics to your run of the mill Camaros and Mustangs and nobody seems to mind.
For the love of god just don't call it "a cruise in".

I recently sold my last Corvette and currently only have a first gen Camaro so perhaps my feedback isn't valid. However, even before that I generally disliked car shows. I view them as a time waster when your car(s) are locked into the area for the entire event like at most venues. Even larger events like the Good Guys shows where they have venders and swap meet/car corals don't seem to hold my interest much anymore.
I usually have more affinity for the cars and coffee type events where you can come and go as you please, The informal events just seem to be more attractive to me as I've gotten older and value my time more.

They are not everyone's liking. For me I'm just the opposite of you. Have been to the national shows.. participated in the builders show cased cars. Had cars at SEMA still go to pebble Beach and many concours shows and races with my current position. So for me small parking lot shows I have no interest in attending.
