[Z06] Will a cow hood reduce the under pressure

Will a cow hood reduce the under pressure
I have cracked the hood where the hood bolts mounts are. I have made a repair, it has happened again. I have been told that adding a cowl hood would reduce the pressure from the wind and allow it to flow freely. i have removed the LP and added a mesh grill where the LP used to be for better air flow. Advise needed.

What if i was to take a stock fiber glass hood and add louvers to either side above the tires. @ high speeds i am afraid that the hood is going to fly off. I think it happened when i hit 180. i know the other day i was up the country on one of my morning runs and i was running 130 and the hood was moving. I have to do something

So i was able to get it figured out. My car has a fiber glass hood. it may have been repaired before i bought it. I am going to buy a new carbon fiber hood that will have the louvers and water fall built in. This will fix my issue thanks

Yes it will fix your issue. This is a better solution than a cowl hood.

Safety Car
1) Go to the racing section for more info
2) Add Track Spec hood and fender vents
Option 3 is stop driving 130-180 on public roads. Unless these speeds are found on a closed course.

Melting Slicks
They don't blow off as much as they do just disintegrate. There is a video on YouTube with a procharged C5 doing a 180mph pull and his hood just shreds into pieces. It wasn't OEM. It was a Duraflex hood he got from Corvette Creations.
