I've heard quite a few people complain about what sounds like tolerance issues. Difficult to get into gear, rattles - misalignments that develop over time...
I can't say I've personally seen any of this, but when I find a product that's cheaper than it's peers, I'm not surprised to hear about QC issues down the line.
Never heard the above and I'm an MGW guy for the most part. My Tick was the first run and I'd rank it firs behind my decade-plus old MGW but purely by subjective preference. Callaway behind that. And I do love my TMOD bases on all my shifters. I have one of his first hundred run. And I have one billet. The old one was refreshed purely to check for wear so now they both need to be broken in again.
I figure all old the shifters that use the standard configuration (Hurst, B&M, C6) kinda have to be the same thing. You can play around with the pivot point and the length of the stick... but they still have to fit the same hole and actuate the same rods

I've never heard a bad word about Tick or Tmod -
Any of those issues are likely due to install error. I have had MGW in 2 Mustangs, a GTO, a C5Z and now my C7GS and not once had ANY of those complaints. I want to try the Tick "just because" but won't pay the asking prices for one.
I have a first 100 run Tick shifter. It is installed correctly. It rattles like a timber rattler on coke. Glad this thread popped up, because I contacted them many moons ago about an RMA, was told I would get one and I have never received it. Time to follow up.
I also had a first shipment Tick. The boot tore through normal driving and expelled grease. They sent a replacement boot and I sold it. Following versions did receive a different boot. That is not to say I didn't like the way it shifted. I did. Greatly. And I consider it my 2nd favorite and/or the perfect one for sport driving.
So it became a rattle trap? Does it still have grease in it?
