I'm looking into buying a 2004 z06 but have a few questions about it and I figure asking a dealer would only lead to further confusion. For one thing I'm 6'4 and would like to know how comfortable you taller guys are. I know that some people might say just go sit in the car at the dealer but you never get a real feel for a car on a showroom floor. Another question I have goes out to all of you guys who live in areas that snow. I live in NY and it snows just about 5-10 times in a winter and I think I could garage the car for that time but if I had to take the car out how would it fair?
I truly believe that this is the most beautful car on the road and i have my fingers crossed that it would fit my needs and be comfortable. Thanks :seeya
I'm very comfortable, but you're a little taller than me (6'2"). There's a few big bumps in the road on the way to work that if I don't tilt my head, it gets smacked. The seat is all the way back but exactly where I would have stopped it anyway.
I'm only 5'10, so no comment on height. However, I had my last vette in DC and I took it out with snow on the ground. It was as good as any rear wheel drive car I've had in the snow before, with the one notable exception that it tends to turn into a plow with more than about four or five inches. I wouldn't take it out during a big storm, but after the streets are plowed, you'll be fine. :yesnod:
The only way I would take the Vette out in the snow would be for an emergency. I know that its not an suv but I want to know that if I have to go out I'm not going to kill myself.
6'4" 193 pounds. I'm right at the cusp of being too tall. I have a crew cut and when it gets above an inch I rub the roof where it dips down. I would say the car fits me fine though. Too bad not many sports cars seem to be built for tall guys. One thing that is nice on the 06 is the tranny in the rear as it gives my big, floppy 13" shoes room. It might be the only sports car (US built) for guys over 6" 2".
I'm 6'2", 205 lbs and fit quite nicely in the car now. At first, it seemed as if I was almost too tall (like 2 more inches would not be pleasant) but I swear the seat has settled some now that my fat butt has been in it a few miles. I don't know if the seat really has settled or I've just adjusted, but I'm extremely comfortable now and feel I have plently (more than couple of inches) head room. Never plan to drive it in the snow but I'm sure I'll get caught unexpectly in a storm sooner or later. Hope this helps.
As stated above, leg room is great. With the seat all the way back, I actually feel like my legs are too short!! I say go for it. You won't regret it!

OK, call me lard butt, but at 6'4" and 240# I only have a problem on bumps that will lift you out of the seat (and there aren't that many of those) I too have a crew cut (flat top) and yes, I notice when it is time for a haircut. I can wear some baseball hats in the car and not others without rubbing. There is enough room for my size 13 skis, uh feet although somedays I wish there were 1/2" more under the panel. Overall, it is more comfortable in a lot of ways than my '96 Cobra was. Find a C5, Z06 preferred because the roof is SLIGHTLY lower if I remember correctly and take it for a spin. Preferably on GMs 24 hour test drive so you can spend some time getting comfortable in the car. (Not with the throttle, that comes later)
Driving her in snow? What's that? On that rare occasion we only get ice and EVERYTHING stays parked.
Why would you take a Z06 or any C5 out in the snow? It's a sports car not a truck or snowmobile.
:mad
Becasue some of us are stretching our budgets just to be able to own a vette and dont make enough to go out and get an SUV just for the few times a year that it snows. I'm not madd at people that can afford 3 or 4 cars, but don't judge others situations. It is after all, just a car with 4 wheels and an engine. With the right tires, cations, and driving skill, a little snow is no problem. :mad

:iagree: I've driven all of my sports cars in the snow...carefully.
