You'll be going right by me, I live just north of Bangor. Route 9 is great, lots of nice high speed sweepers and elevation changes. It's known as the "airline road" by a lot of Mainers, I think because of the speed most people drive on it. I have fun every time I drive it. If you have time, a lot of the roads that run north south between 9 and 1, like 181, 179, 193, 191, 182 are a blast too and the chances of seeing a cop are pretty minimal.
