I recently had GHL Magnums (dual tips) installed at a local muffler shop, only to find out that the right and left tips don't match up. The manager of the shop showed me that the rear-most pipe on the right side had been bent too far during the manufacturing process, and now my left and right tips are uneven and off-set by about 3/4 of an inch. The left tip sticks out further than the right one. It's not too noticable from a distance, but from around five feet away you can really see the difference. Well, the muffler shop said they could heat the pipe and bend it into place, but I told them not too since I didn't want to mess up the chrome finish. So, to make a short story even longer, should I just leave them alone and keep the chrome finish scorch free, or should I take the chance and let the muffler shop try and fix it? (Yes, I know I could have sent them back, but the muffler shop chopped my other exhaust into pieces without even asking me about it ahead of time).
Oh, I love the GHLs...they rock I have no intention of getting rid of them. And I still respect that company for their good quality products.
Had the same problem with the right side. I swapped both tips, still uneven. I finally had to cut off about 3/8" on the right axle pipe. Fixed it. I hear about the precision of GHL but I wonder about their jigs. I would let Brian know.
Yeah, I'd get it fixed because you will always know it isn't the way you want it.
I've got the CorsaTouring w/Tigershark tips and all four tips have to line up together. The muffler shop did a good job, but the next day I noticed they were off about half an inch. Fortunately they were able to correct it.
Bend it, or every one behind you will be commenting about how screw up it looks instead of how nice the car looks. I notice these kinds of things all the time while running behind someone. It also says something about the driver.
Like someone else said, I'd call them. I bet they'll send you a new one and let you send them back the bad one. That way you're not down at all. Worth a call!
I'd contact GHL about this. It would bother me as well. When I was messing with my cutouts a few weeks ago, I tightened everything up only to find the tips way off. They had been straight before that. So I loosened the flanges up and they popped into place. There had been some tension in the system keeping them from hanging straight.
I've heard the GHL's are well made and i've worked on a set as well. With the dual connections, adjustments should be better than on the Stingers as they only have one intermediate joint, so only one degree of freedom for tweaking.
If you have the facility, loosen up the exhaust and work your way from the front to back to try and align the system. Of course, it helps if you have a friend to lend a hand.

I'd get it fixed. Call the exhaust company and see if they will make it good for you. Hopefully they will send you a new muffler with the tips the way they should be.
your wrench turner is full of "BS" have it checked by someone competent. What is more than likely the problem is that the exhaust hangar tab was bent in the installation process. This will cause EXACTLY the problem you describe. I know because it happened to me. Good Luck
