I can't believe my wife, she overheard a conversation I had with a friend about the rebates and dealer offers on the 2004 Corvette (I was trying to persuade him into getting one). Her response was that I should trade in my 2002 and get a new one. Now, I'm entertaining the thought!!! I see the advantages as this, a new warranty and a better ride? Penny for your thoughts gentlemen.....

Most likely you will get killed on your trade in - but the 2004 is a slightly better car than a 2002. A friend sold his 2001 Z and bought a 2004 Z and could not be happier. I am going to keep my 2002 since it is almost paid for and I can convert that cash flow into track mods!
Sell your friend your Corvette. Then go buy a new 2004 Corvette at invoice or GMS with the rebates while there is still some good choices left. They are going fast and so is summer. Let us know how you make out. Good Luck. Save the Wave.>George
I walked out of the dealership, Powers Chevrolet, on June 12th of this year, with a 2004 Z06, stickered at $53,120, for $45,000 including tax, license, dealer fees, etc.
Incidentally, I ran the car at the Irwindale 1/8th mile drag strip, and ran into another '04 owner who got his car for $44,000 because he had a GMAC credit card.
The only difference is the shocks and they can be purchased for about $350 and installed for about $250 more, so is the rest of the price for the swap really worth the warranty? I think not. I think you just want a different color and are looking for a reason to get it! Am I right?

Patmo, you're right just a little. I love my black Vette but it sure is time consuming to keep it up. If I had the chance to do it over again, I'd buy a different color. What else drives me is I like being covered by a warranty. And I enjoy having the low mileage. Last is the idea to trade now for the 2004 Z06, then in a few years get a C6 Z06.
