Anyone not running the run flat tires???

I am. Toyo Proxes T1S. Fix-a-flat will ruin your pressure sensors. Carry a plug kit and tire pump - and have a cell phone handy! I just bought a jack from C5 Frederik. Still need a lug wrench, tho.

Goodyear F1 Supercars.
What I carry with me: 1) a plug kit, 2) small air compressor, 3) Cell phone and 4) a can of fix-a-flat if all else fails (don't really want to use that since I DO have pressure sensors in there) but I'll use it if I have to and buy another sensor.
IF I take the car on long trips, I do have the OEM Runflats on the OEM wheels ready to be bolted on.

Oh and carry a small pair of pliers in case you have to pullout the nail or whatever it is. I also keep AAA current.

Bottom line: You sacrifice performance when your C5 wears runflats. Whether that sacrifice is acceptable is up to you, but just remember that C&D also found out that a C5 coupe with non-runflats handled the slaloms just as well as a Z06 - a MAJOR improvement over a runflat-equipped coupe. Now if you must drive through the bad part of town everyday...........runflats may well be a necessity.

Honestly, you're going to get passionate responses to both. You're going to have to decide whether you're willing to live with excessive tire noise and a bit of a harsh ride and the safety of a runflat as opposed to a non-runflat. If you live in an urban area, it's really not a problem. You can find a garage pretty quick of a safe place to pull off. If you live in a rural area, like myself, then the security of a runflat is important. I don't want to have to walk a mile to the nearest phone, especially at night, because I have a flat. No, the cell phones don't have great coverage in rural areas. A lot of people say that you should just get a plug kit and an air compressor. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be lying along the road trying to plug a tire. I average a flat tire about once every 2 or 3 years, so I know that I don't want to go without the runflats. I just had a flat tire Sunday night and it was much nicer than having the vehicle towed because I didn't have my runflats.

I have had one flat in 10 years of driving knock on wood, I will risk it for quiet and better performance, I just had GS-D3's installed last night and I already love them. I will get my plug kit and carry my 12VDC compressor just in case as well as pliers.

During Spring to Fall, I run Goodyear Supercars on my coupe. The ride and handling compared to the runflats is amazing. I carry a small compressor, a plug kit and of course a cell phone just in case. No problems so far.

Goodyear Eagle Supercars on 2000 coupe (currently for sale over in the C5s For Sale/Wanted forum - 2000 Pewter Coupe for sale)
One of the best and most 'driver-noticeable' mods you can make. Handling is absolutely fantastic and the ride is MUCH better. Definitely worth the money! Go for it!
I keep a cell phone and most times fix-a-flat (though I do run the tire pressure sensors and it will of course kill them)

Another problem with RF's is finding someone willing to work on them. I asked several places and found that the majority of them would not touch them with a 10ft pole. Even Goodyear had only one tech that was qualified to repair them. I still have my original tires but may have to make the change when the time comes. I'm tired of the noise and bump steer, I don't trust my Vette in a cruve.
