Default Garage Floor Tiles @$2.50/ea

I have seen many threads on garage tiles and thought I would pass on some information from another forum that I thought would be of interest here. I don't have any additional information about the tiles other that what I have read in the thread provided below. If I can find enough EXTRA? funds to cover the floor of my 25X30 garage I will definitely consider the Sears tiles.

Yes...I know that the Armstrong Stick/Glue down tiles are alot cheaper...but these Sears tiles are similar to the RaceDeck floor tiles. Nice for people that plan on making a move in the future, or have old concrete floors with many stains that the other tiles may not stick to...like me.

Hey Evil, how do those tiles you installed hold up against tire marks ect. Even tho they are self stick its best to use an adhesive anyway right? Did you prep the conc with anything?" muratic acid or the like? Good looking floor!!

when the tires are hot, they will leave a brown mark on the tile, so i place a tile under each tile to stop that from happening.

the tiles arent self stick, they are dry backed and you h ave to use a trowl and glue to put them down.

i had already painted the floor with the behr epoxy, so i had used the muratic acid on it to etch it, but i didnt take any of the epoxy up before i put them down.

Default floor tiles

Kool, I had originaly intended to do ceramic tile, Down here you can pick it up for $1 a sq foot or sometimes less if you dont care about the color. But its a pain to do and can crack if yu dont put down an undrlayment first. Conc floors down here will always crack eventually and transmit the crack to the tile. So you have to put down what amounts to vinyl flooring without the shiney surface. It like doing the floor twice. I just about finished the whole house and did about 2000 sq ft so Im done with tile plus I hate grouting. The vinyl should be easier and the adhesive is the same stuff I used for the tile underlayment. I dont think Ill do white tho. Depends whats in stock I guess. Gotta clean the garage first. Thanks for the input

I have been going round and round everywhere trying to decide on a garage floor. I have to cover 30x40ft so I wanted to be sure.

I have seen a Race Deck garage and found you can get a discount if you work them especially if your doing more than 500sq ft.

The RaceDeck floor is beautiful, but I did not like the plastic CLAP...CLAP....CLAP sound it makes when you walk on it if any part of your floor is the least bit out of wack.

Has anyone noticed this?

I am seriously leaning towards the Armstrong tile myself. With something respectable to park the cars on.

Thanks for the Autopia article, didn't know about the Sear's flooring. Looks a lot like RaceDeck with a better pricing. I used MotoMat flooring at 2.35 a square and have been very pleased with it since I installed it 6 months ago

I did the racedeck and am very pleased. Yes it does make a weird noise when you walk on it, but it does sttle a bit and you stop noticing it.

I went racdeck for the 10 warranty, and the color chooses, I used 5 colors. My wife ( who does that Fo-painting) then did the garage with a cool red an blue stripe, two tone walls, and covered it with water based polyurethane, to hold up to grease marks etc.

Now I can wipe up the floor and walls. She even did the fridge with the paint scheme and stripes

I really like the result, but it went from total mess to very cool for about 3k including paint, reworking my work bench to roll and shelfs.

I wish I could post pics I also got several very cool vette posters dry-mounted and put them up, kind of looks like a car art gallery now

This is exactly what I did a year ago. I did 850 sq.ft. in all black. Had to level out the floor in certain areas and strip the old paint off. Total price installed was around $900 (material and labor). The tiles I used had no dry adhesive. A very durable floor that does not show dirt.

Can we go to Sears and buy them or do we have to order them online?
