From what I understand, the stock ZO6 battery is a special light weight Delco. If you replace it with say an Optima, which weighs more, would this have any effect on wheel alignment due to weight difference?

Considering that the newer C5's came with even heavier batteries (they switched back to non-AGM in 2004, perhaps earlier); nothing to worry about.
When my AGM died, I went with the warranty replacement, the non-AGM 75-7YR Professional (rated about 2.5 lbs heavier). No change in tire wear or handling: not a significant weight change relative to total weight.
