ACHIU,
I'm sorry to hear about your Z. I wish I had better news but my situation remains the same. They replace the enitre clutch assembly on friday now it is having "slow release" symptoms. The guy who has been working on it has been deemed the areas "Corvette specialist". So far I don't buy into it. I will be taking it back to another dealer on Monday. Also, ACHIU I think this whole oil leaking problem started when they replace my oil pump. Before they replaced it they tore off the enitre front end of my engine trying to figure out what was wrong. It turns out that the oil pumps used in some Z06's have the butterfly valve stick shut in cold temps only. So when they brought it into the garage, of course the valve worked fine. Tell them to replace the pump or call TAN and they will tell them the same. Don't be a dealership statistic! Good luck!

I think that I might be selling mine in the VERY NEAR Future. I think that I might just get my self a little snake (viper). Thanks for your advice, but I don't feel like dealing with this mess anymore.

Torally agree with you.

koop,
sorry to hear about your troubles.
i would suggest making sure that the servicing dealer is one that sells alot of corvettes. make sure they are a zo6 dealership too. these type dealerships usually have the best corvette techs.
hopefully you have just gone to the wrong dealership and dont have a problem car.
lemon law buy back deals are a pain but sometimes is your only recourse. it shouldnt matter whether you bought the vehicle new or used (unless there was some collision damage done to the car before you bought it.)
good luck.

Parking brake was installed incorrectly, this resulted in an awful rattle in the rear of the car. The Column lock was replaced, due to failure and an inability to be jumped externaly, this was shown as (service column lock on the DIC). The BCM was replaced and reprogrammed due to (service active handling) warnings that appeared on DIC.Get this I am going home (after a week of service at chevy) and I hit the horn, it honks once and then is no longer working!!! I am VERY UNHAPPY with the quality of this vette. I really think that I might have a LEMON. Has anyone else had ANY of these problems???

Sorry to hear about your problems. I have a Blk/Blk 01 with 4600 on the clock. Too many runs at 170+ indicated to count. 1 quart of oil to date and a 1st oil change at 1800 miles. Babied it during break in for first 600 miles. Tight as a drum. Only problem is a "Charge Fault Warning" on DIC. Dealer replaced with new alternator during overnight stay. Still shows DIC code intermittently. Back to dealer tomorrow. Dealer has said it should not pose a problem but I want it fixed. Has anyone else experienced this.

This is my first forum entry. Great place to share and receive info. I'm impressed.

Boy is this old news, I wonder where that guy dug this up from? Koop bought a Viper about six months ago. I wonder if he still likes it?
As for the guy that brought this up, I just can't wait to post the article I found about what a POS that great Japanese built Mazda RX-7 was. Stay tuned for the article to be posted on Thursday. That phony Japanese marketing makes me want to puke.

It's strange how some cars have all kinds of problems, and others have none, or just a few siimple ones. IMO, most of this is manuafacuring problems, not design problems.

I think most of us would freak out if we saw just how fast this stuff is put together. Figure 35,000 Vetts made per year. At 11 months (330 days) at 24 hrs/day, this comes out to one coming off the assembly line every 15 minutes .

I have almost 7 thousand miles on mine. This is miles driven often in stop and go traffic which is supposedly much harder on the car. It gets drag raced at the track and has even been autocrossed with even more to come. This doesn't include the occassional street encounter and the almost daily letting her rip down an empty road for a hard shift or two.

Not one problem... outside of about 3 quarts of oil which for me doesn't seem like a problem.
