What I find absolutely fascinating is that I didn't see one single post from a convertible guy saying - "I HATE MY CONVERTIBLE! WHY DIDN'T I GO FOR THE COUPE??"
On the other hand, there were a few coupe people that said - "I WISH I GOT A CONVERTIBLE!"
Bottom line - get what you want, what fits your needs the best and what will make you happy over the long run! That's why the General made three different body styles in the C5 -something for everyone!
Ok I just sold my Vert to go with a FRC and am tickled with it.I liked the Vert only when the weather was perfect and that's about 2% of the time.
Things I hated about a convertible:
Black interior w/top down....HOT
Faded black interior due to sun
The few times I drove in the rain....top leaked on both sides
Must have aftermarket stereo to hear over the wind noise w/top up or down
If you get into drag racing it's pretty ugly w/roll cage
Had a 01 and a 02 coupe. I now have a 00 vert. First, I noticed less road noise both with top up and with the top down. Second, no buffeting of the air flow to the rear hatch area. To me the looks are a toss up although I like the snugness of the driver's area. More cockpit like.
