Would the best time be in the dead of winter or in the summer of 2002 when the 2003 models are on the verge of being released? This of course means when do you think I could get the best deal.

Probably the cheapest prices are at the end of the model year, as we are now seeing significant price breaks in the 2001's.

You'll probably see them at invoice ($6k discount) starting in 8-9 months. More will be made this year, and demand is always less after 1st year....that's why I think they be discounting earlier this year.
I can see myself in a discounted EB Z06 next spring or summer!

good pricing on 01's wont really start until this winter. So by using that formula you can figure out when the best time to buy for x year. I started to but started getting dizzy

...Also there might be MORE '02s built than '01s (line shut-downs due to wheel supply) that, combined with declining economy (dumped leased Zs by laid off techies) will cause prices to slide on used '01s and NEW '02s.
As always, the people that just gotta have the newest, latest greatest RIGHT NOW, pay the highest prices... the market settles, and the rest of us can get a better deal on the SAME car. JMHO
