What type of racing do you prefer to do in your Corvette? Just trying to see what kind of racing is most common for C5 Vettes. Drag racing or autoX/road course?

your best bet would be to have this a poll.

I do autoX and want to get into drag racing in the future but need to bump up the ponies a bit before i do

Speedway, top end for me. Put the pedal to the balsa wood/composite( it's not metal anymore). And hang on .

See sig

Tried the 1/4 mile stuff and it's fun, but it doesn't give me the same rush as a road course. In a drag race, I know exactly what's going to happen ever step of the way, no changes and with runcraps, and I'm going to run within .1 seconds all day long. Road courses add a million other variables to the mix

Road racing and High Performance Driving Schools for me. Anyone can learn to drive fast in a straight line. Learning to drive fast around corners takes real skill. ( Yes I have done drag racing and why I prefer road racing )

From my perspective, I would much rather road race than drag race. Going down the 1/4 mile for 11 seconds vs running a road course for typically a half-hour...no contest when it comes to excitement. Plus driver skill (I still have a lot to learn) is signifcantly more important in road racing; there is a lot more competition from a variety of cars in road racing.

I haven't raced it yet but if I did it would be autocross.

I used to be into drag racing big time - but all I will do is break expensive things in the vette (this ain't no live axle Ford 9inch brute).

Sliding sideways "at speed" is the way to go for me now

But it's still nice to roast a Ricer or wannabe dragster.

I know I'm going to see a bunch of these but the only racing I've done so far is drag racing on the street or highway. But I think road racing would be awesome. I thought about going to the driving school Bob Bondurant (that might be spelled wrong) but man that place is expensive. I wouldn't want to wreck my car road racing though. I seen a Viper bite it one time on a video...right into a wall.

I have only done road racing and I think thats all I want to do. Driving the Vette on a road course is like driving a big go cart.
It's just damn FUN

Tons of great tracks around the country.

Hi-Bank Raceways for me. That's what my vette told me anyway.
