What type of racing do you prefer to do in your Corvette? Just trying to see what kind of racing is most common for C5 Vettes. Drag racing or autoX/road course?
Tried the 1/4 mile stuff and it's fun, but it doesn't give me the same rush as a road course. In a drag race, I know exactly what's going to happen ever step of the way, no changes and with runcraps, and I'm going to run within .1 seconds all day long. Road courses add a million other variables to the mix
Road racing and High Performance Driving Schools for me. Anyone can learn to drive fast in a straight line. Learning to drive fast around corners takes real skill. ( Yes I have done drag racing and why I prefer road racing )
From my perspective, I would much rather road race than drag race. Going down the 1/4 mile for 11 seconds vs running a road course for typically a half-hour...no contest when it comes to excitement. Plus driver skill (I still have a lot to learn) is signifcantly more important in road racing; there is a lot more competition from a variety of cars in road racing.
I know I'm going to see a bunch of these but the only racing I've done so far is drag racing on the street or highway. But I think road racing would be awesome. I thought about going to the driving school Bob Bondurant (that might be spelled wrong) but man that place is expensive. I wouldn't want to wreck my car road racing though. I seen a Viper bite it one time on a video...right into a wall.
