I have decided to do my own custom job on my interior and I need to know what the heck the parts are made out of so I use the correct materials ie paint or dye. First the radio portion of the console. I am most definitely going to use paint not dye on this in order to achieve the color and finished look that I want (satin aluminum look).
The problem I have is with the rear console section. You know, the part the kinda starts with the armrest pad and goes to the back of the seats in between them. Technically speaking, is this piece vinyl or plastic (not the armrest pad but the whole section underneath it)??? I am going to do this section in Lt Oak to match my interior. Do I treat it like vinyl and dye it? Or do I paint it like plastic?
Also, has anyone done any of this themselves? What materials did you use and where did you get them?
Thanks a bunch guys! I am really excited about this and will post pictures when I am all done.
