C5 Air Box for Donaldson/Blackwing
The instructions state to Mark the outer edge with marker - measure in 1" and use a stright edge to mark the cut line.
My question is do you cut the complete area under the filter or a 1" strip? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I installed a Blackwing recently, and I'm not sure what you mean.
The only thing I had to cut was the rubber adapter between the Blackwing itself and the Mass Air Flow sensor.

If you have a screenless MAF, you might want to rethink the Cold Air Shroud. These have been known to give rough idle and other driveability problems due to the increase of air turbulance.
