Many reasons.
1. He stole it. Didn't want you to recognize him for the cops.
2. Considers a C5 old hat.
3. He was one of the Generals Engineers.
4. Thought you were in a Ferrari.
5. He was a friggin jerk with no Vette Class, no Vette etiquite.
6. He was just afterbirth, his Mom threw out the baby.
7. He was the son of a Congressman or Senator.
8. He just thought he was too cool for anybody.
9. His wife just slapped the heck out of him for buying it.
10. He was thinking of the 657 more payment he had.

I'd say Number 5. To young to know and too stupid to learn.
