Hi all, have been a forum member for several years, had a '68 and '02 way back when, life got in the way but am back to exact my wrath...lol. Since my youngest is almost ready to go to college I decided to pull the trigger on my next project.
2004 black on black 6spd convertible w/36k miles.
It looks like the only mods done on this is a Corsa Xtreme exhaust post axle, and some kind of CAI, not yet identified.
It's really in bone stock condition so I will enjoy doing all of the usual mods to it.
Previous owner spray painted ?? the rims, they are all kinds of red neck engineered, including overspray on good Continental tires, really don't know what he was thinking. But they are getting switched out to chrome ZO6 18's/19's
Driver seat is an absolute mess, feels like I'm sitting in a Jello bowl. New seats are definitely incoming.
Overall tho it is a solid purchase, look forward to easing back into Vette life and driving the shoot out of it. Have my first Vette chapter meeting next Monday and a car show in April.

Congrats on getting back into a C5. If not already planning to do so or has already been done and documented by prior owner, consider getting all the fluids changed and check all belts, hoses and filters.
As far as the seats, if you can find a set, look at getting C7 seats - a much better change for the car.
36,000 miles, and wheels that are spray painted. I would change ALL the fluids if I were you. Who knows what fluid were changed and what wasn’t changed.

as a matter of fact I have. I swore I did not want to get into the engine on this...why break open a perfectly good LS1 with 30k miles on it?
Well, digging thru the gears the other day, I just had that urge, esp when I hit 3rd...I was just begging for it to wind faster so I could hit 4th...but it seemed to just doddle around.
I soon started thinking and trying to justify, well lets just put some heads on it, what about a miiiillllllddddd cam....I had to check myself. I bought this to be a comfortable cruiser.
I think I will soon purchase a clapped out C6 to burn the roads down...we'll see.

Yup my car was just supposed to be my retirement driver. Now, 4.10 gears, 243 heads, cam, and headers are wrapped awaiting install. Technically…I am still retired, and it is my daily driver 😆
