I found that chrome Z06 wheels are made by 2 companies Detroit wheels and Factory reproductions. in a close comparison I found the Detroit wheels to be the best. The others have a larger center hole than the C5, apparently so they will fit other cars??

Speaking from expereince as one who owns a set of the Detroit chrome Z06 wheels, I can say that they are very nice indeed! No problems mounting the tire pressure sensors, and an absolute pristine chrome job. I got mine from ebay from JRICKMILLER. He runs them fairly regularly on there.

Detroit Wheel Z06 Repos are great looking but trying to find info on the manufacturer is impossible all I come up with is distributors. Anybody out there have any info on the actual Detroit Wheel Co. Maybe a web page or phone #.

I just purchased the Detroit wheel from Southwest Wheel in AZ. They were selling them on ebay for 1250 buy now and I emailed them and offered them 1200 shipped to my door in texas. I sent the money order on tuesday they received it on wed at 11:19am and shipped the same day and received tracking numbers when shipped. The boxes were in excellent shape and wheels are perfect. I would recommend them to anyone. Email me and I can give you their email address. Lee also you can email me at leegina@swbell.net I will not return to work until Saturday night to check the other email. Thanks Lee

Leegina,
What sizes did you get? I am looking at getting the standard C5 sizes for my car....is that what you did? Also, if you can email me any info from where you got yours, that would be great.

Re: (Silver TT)
Sorry my work computer will not let me in the corvette forum. They were the stock Z06 sizes not c5 and they did come with all of the lugs, center cap with emblem on the caps. You get everything with them. THanks lee

Re: (leegina)
Does anyone know if these are the exact same weight as the OEM wheels?
Does the chroming add weight? Is the wheel the same weight to begin with or just a replica in looks.
Thanks again,
Dan

The wheels from Corvettes of Houston are made by Factory Reproductions. I believe you would find the quality to be excellent and COH will give you good service. I bought standard chrome wheels from them and am very happy with those.

I chnaged from stock 1999 wheels to the reproduction Z06 Chromes and I can tell you that the stock wheels are much heavier than the Chrome.
I believe I read on the forum that the stock Z06 wheels are 6 pounds lighter per wheel than the stock 2001 C5 wheels.
It felt as if the chromes were even lighter than that?
Hope this helps.

Re: (chucschramm)
Did anyone buy the Z06 chrome rims at stock sizes and put them on a regular C5? If so, did you have to buy them "offset" so they don't stick out past the rims?

Re: (chucschramm)
I was in COH when they had chromed OEM Z06ers and Chromed Repo Z06ers. THe OEM were *drastically* lighter. The price, after getting a set of OEM Z06ers adn then chroming them, was a whooooooooooole lot more.
Im very happy with my chromed repo Z06ers, but they felt twice as heavy as the originals. (without tires, or course...)
I have a little "unsprung weight" (looking down) to lose before I spend thaaaat much on lighter bits for my car... :yesnod:
