on the 17x9.5 and 18x10.5 will the factory 245 45 17 and 275 40 18 work and look right on these wheels, or really need bigger tire?

Your stock tires will fit fine on the upgraded sizes. There are quite a few members on the board running their stock tires on these sizes. Tirerack shows the specs for appropiate wheel sizes for a 245 45 17 to be between a 7.0-9.5 so your well within those sizes. No reason to replace your tires if they are good!
