Yeah. You can't defend that.

A mild heads/cam package would yield in the 500's. Seems like all the numbers for this kit, which costs enough to buy a damn C5 to put it in, are embarrassingly low.

I'd be upset with 490(or 540 previous claim) for that price new... But, at current price, used with complete interior... not too shabby. Marc, if you get to the point of selling separate, I'd be interested in the interior bits.

I've contemplated posting on this listing-I don't wish to discourage anyone from looking at/buying this and if the OP thinks this is any way negative let me know and I'll wipe it out.

I can't speak for this particular engine, but I do own an MTI 427, but mine is ls7 based, not a re-sleaved LS1.

They put freaky little cams in them, and the tunes were not great. This tune looks to be ok in the WOT area. Remember they're using 243 heads, they're using a 90MM fast intake... etc etc..

These motors were built a while ago, put a more proven camshaft in it, tune it properly and you'd be surprised what it will make I think.

FWIW my LS7 based 427 with LS6 heads managed 620 on the engine dyno with a pathetic excuse for a cam in it and **** poor tuning.

What MTI did have going for them is that they put so many of these together that they got good at the formula. These motors are "Well Built" and after having to yank mine out I can tell you that they didn't skimp on anything parts wise.

Overall you're getting a FULL motor intake to oil pan which has been properly sleeved and has the best parts money could buy at the time in it, plus a replacement interior for what a budget longblock would cost you. Factor in $900 for a new cam and to go through and check things out (new head gaskets, new intake gaskets) & tuning and you'd have a very stout package and fresh seats.

The Dyno numbers are low however my tuner and i came to the conclusion that it has been detuned. This is a killer deal for someone and if we do not sell it soon its going into my car. Everyone at the shop that day was impressed with this engine. It ran cool with no issues at all. We were able to drive this thing and its very tame until you press the gas! If i put it in my car i will have the tune worked on and would recommend that for who ever buys this engine.

Did this motor have the Z1? Mine had the X1 (230/227 .591 .571 over 112)

which I felt was an odd choice.

Wow... Another z07 has pop'd up. I actually just saw another one this week at my local shop.

My personal z07 was a pos. The motor blew up bc of poor engine build. I contact mti to see if we could resolve the issue... I got a nasty message back. Car made 480rwhp thru an auto. Now, after the rebuilt, it's making damn near 550rwhp.

But for the price of this car, holy hell that's a car I would totally buy.

Side note, my engine was a c5r block 427ci z07. It's now for sale as car is being parted out. Tried selling as a whole, couldn't get any bites so parting is the only way.

Are those wheels still available? The ones that were on it when it was purchased from the auction?

Understand that the MTI Z07 package dates back to 2000 when they debuted their 422ci resleeves packaged as the Z07 in anticipation of the Z06 debut.

These where some of the first small block 422 and 427's done in complete package, with warranty, form.

Power levels ranged from 480rwhp for the the first Z07's to 610rwhp by the time they did my car, the last C5 Z07 package that was built.

As with all shops there where success stories and less satisfied folks.

Are the seats and center console still up for sale?

If you guys end up breaking up the contents of the package please let me know a price for the seats and center console,

Thanks.
