Absolutely not, but they (and turbo setups) really respond well to good meth kits. Screw and roots don't because there's no room to inject it where you get anywhere near the IAT reduction (where there's time for it to atomize and exchange heat) and even cylinder distribution. If you want to achieve the most out of a centri or turbo kit with pump gas, meth injection is part of the recipe. The motors in stock form are high compression and have tight ring gaps to control emissions and blow by. You put any significant long-term heat in your cylinders and you risk butting rings and ripping a ring land off a piston. Low boost won't put that kind of heat in a cylinder unless the tune is pretty far off.
