following for more reviews and updates. Certainly sounds like a great and inexpensive upgrade to improve the driving experience.

What do I need to pay up front in order to get this part from you first, before I send my core in?

Thanks, Tom M.
Just shoot me an email with your shipping info, the type of box your sending in, and your decision on poly or delrin torque tube bushings and the tracking number of the box your sending in. I will let you know when I get it and have it back in the mail within a couple days. I'd prefer payment at the same time so I can send you a confirmation that I have received that at the same time but whatever works best for you if fine with me.

DAMN that C5R is SICK!!!

Is there a benefit or advantage to the solid bushings vs. the delrin bushings?

It's all a matter of preference, The solid mounted Z06\ZR1 bushings are harder, but the don't dampen vibration as much. The poly bushings I make in house are the absolute best material you can get, they dampen vibration the best. The Delrin is a harder material, closer to hard mounted Z06\ZR1 bushings, but being a little softer they give a small amount of vibration dampening.

Just a quick note to share, I just received the modified lower box from TMODcustoms. Smooth as silk, but rock solid and zero slop. What a nice job. Thanks!!!

Everything sounds great, and I have no problem making payment first, that is the norm. What would you recommend going with as far as the tube bushings? My car sits for long periods of time throughout the year, and it's tracking days are over however, there is a plan to put a substantially better engine in it, if I ever get around to it with other vehicle projects, lol!!

I'm leaving to go back on the road tomorrow but, when I make it back home in 4-6 weeks, I'll make that one of my first priorities to get it shipped out to you. I'll let you know in advance when I'm getting close to home time and be on the lookout for the package with tracking.

Remind me again what the total purchase price is so I can keep that number in my head?....Thank you

Thanks for the compliment on my Vette, always means more coming from a Forum member....It's amazing what you can do to a car in 14 years.

Best regards,

Tom M.

Tell me about it! I'm sorry guys, I ran the retailer out of bearings. I bought all the bearings I could get from other retailers and that they could find for me, it wasn't many. They have been trickling in, literally, they called me up yesterday to get my parts that came in, ONE BEARING! UGH> They should be in today or tomorrow but I'm not gonna say anything until I have them im my hands. Sorry, I'll keep everyone posted .

I have a bunch of Z06 boxes!!! If anyone wants to upgrade to a Z06 box, even if your core is not a Z06, let me know.

I run a Corvette-only repair shop. The shifter you was for my personal car. I've got a customer right now that I've talked into using the solid bushings (he has a base 07) so I need to order one and send his for a core.

PM sent.

I have almost 100 boxes out in the wild now and I couldn't be happier with al the great feedback and all the happy Vette owners that are enjoying my product everyday. Thank you so much!

Here are just a couple of things that I recommend and would like to touch on regarding the install, as always please feel free to ask any questions that you can think of, I am always happy to help with anything I can.

Red loctite- For the bolt in the linkage, to the rear of the box.
3\8in or larger ratchet with a 3in or longer extension with the torx bit to tighten this bolt. You want to put a lot of downward pressure on this bolt while your tightening it, so you don't strip the torx out. A good sized ratchet with an extension will give you more leverage and save your knuckles vs. trying to get the job done with a multitool or the like.

Dynomat- It's not required, but it does help quiet down the inside. If I get more requests for it I will keep it stocked and have it available.

Silicone- You want to re-silicone your rubber "foot" back on. I wrap it with a rubber band for a few hours prior to reinstalling it back into the car. Sometimes the "foot" will remain in the car when you pull your box out. Just reach down and grab it.

IMPORTANT:
Please DO NOT send your core in with the "foot" on it. The "foot" is the black rubber insulator that is glued to the bottom of the box. When I send them out, going forward, I will not be providing the rubber "foot". Take yours off before you send the box in and put it back on when you get your new box back. This just makes it easier for everyone. I clean and media blast every box before it goes out so it is a nice clean surface and a small amount of silicone will do the trick. It doesn't even need to cure fully prior to installation, just give it a little while to start setting up and it will be held in tight once installed in the car.

I have been making these one at a time but it became obvious that wasn't fast enough. This is the fixture that holds eight caps at a time for the first set of operations.

If you guys want to see how they are made and let me know and I'll post some video of the next batch. Thanks for all the support!

Just thought I would post a link to another thread here on the forum where I noted some positive feedback on the TMODCustoms lower shifter box.

We've got CORES! Get them while they last! Anyone who wants to avoid downtime can order a completed unit and send their core back when they get it out of the car.
