For the guys on the fence, Just pull your PCM and send it to ECS. When i got on this forum in 2002, there used to be two shops on this forum all the time helping the rest of us work through car problems and giving advice.

one was ECS and the other was The Vette Doctors. Hands down, two great shops that know the ins and outs of corvettes. Just trust them because they are proven.

Ive been to ECS for my orginial cam install, and follow ups to fix other guys mistakes on my car.

He's not BSing you. They have done 100's and 100's of tunes in that shop. Them tuning Bolt ons is like you brushing your teeth in the morning. its done all the time. Your going to spend $1000's on basic mods, spend the $149 bucks and get it tuned!

Ive seen guys getting mugged on here on mail order tunes for $300-400.00 bucks. Id have a hard time saying do it for that price, BUT $149 BUCKS IS A NO BRAINER !
Thanks Phil!! (and yes Chris went to Michaels funural)

Depending on mods, but yes. Firmer, and shorter shift times too!

Great car and it's fast, but my car actually pulls harder on the bottom end. Part of that is the movement of the torque curve with his cam, but I know a lot of it is this tune as well. My buddy also drove my car and said, "I wouldn't do anything else to this car," as he knew I was thinking of putting in a H/C setup. The car is really that fast. All I've done to date is Kooks LT's, a Vararam and Doug's tune.

Great job, Doug...!

Thanks Rossi! That's great to hear.

All I have is a Vararam intake and B&B shorty headers. I dont intend on adding much more then that. Maybe a Supercharger but thats years away.
We have sent many tunes to CA, you will not have any problems with emissions. Thanks in advance.

Default mail order tune

Doug,

I sent you a PM but you haven't responded. I've been talking with Chris about my check engine light still being on after the tune, but still haven't resolved this issue. He was supposed to call me back and let me know if a local tuner could take out the codes or do I have to ship my PCM back. Please let me know....

Thanks,
Dave McMahon

A few questions from a tuner novice...I have a 2000 MN6 with 65000 miles, Blackwing, LG street long tube headers w/ hi pref cats and x-pipe going into Corsa Pace Car cat backs.
I am getting a CEL with code P0430. I believe this is from the rear O2 sensors. Can these be turned off in NY and still pass inspection?

I am ready to rip out my PCM if the the tune will help me

Should I install a 160 thermostat?

thanks, Doug

The 430 code is due to the high flow cats being recognized by the pcm as a failing cat. Yes it can be shut off, and yes you will pass inspection. Oh and yes you should install a 160 stat.

Thanks in advance, your pcm will ship back same day recieved!

Doug,

I'm sorry that I haven't sent my PCM back to you yet, I had a problem with my DD and have had to drive the vette. I plan to pull it this weekend and ship it out this Monday.

Thanks for taking care of me....

I have 98 Vette with the stock 190 thermostat, this dawg hates So Cal traffic and always creeps up to 220 in stop and go. I would like to change to a 160 thermostat and change the temp at which the fans engage and any other mod you could provide that will improve mileage. Is this something you could do mail-order and for $149. (I know you can't change the thermo mail-order, I can handle that)

All part of the $149 tune! We can send the thermostat at the same time if you like.

Yup, no problems at all running a 160 stat no matter how cold outside.
