I have a car in (2000) that does NOT have the correct vin in the PCM.... Causes issues when I try to capture freeze frames.

I've never had to change a PCM out on C5 so this is a new one for me. I do have HPTuners but would have to charge the guy licenses as I don't use it that often.

There's a few open source options that can do that easily, as long as you have a compatible cable/dongle.

THanks.... Looking into these options.

I know the tech2 can read/save & flash PCM. The few things I've read, indicate you use the GM service tools with your computer to update the file & then dump it back. Was hoping someone had experience with just updating/fixing the VIN without having the GM "software subscription". Since I already have the tech2 this would be quickest..
