Android phone based tunes
My other car is a bmw 335i, and impressively enough there are many apps to tune the car's onboard systems, turbo/air/fuel, transmission, etc...
I did a transmission software update, air/fuel retune, boost up, etc...
If you don't know what i"m talking about check out these two apps for N54 based BMWs:

It's pretty cool as you can use prebuilt stage tunes based on octane, mods, etc...
It's also dirt cheap in price, safe, etc...
It makes me wonder... why isn't there something like this for our cars?
Instead of sending our ECU out... why not develop an app that does this and have predefined tunes you can buy and do yourself? Then have a license per car based on VIN, etc...
