I have a 2001 Vette with LT headers and no rear 02 sensors so the car throws the CEL. My question is would a handheld tuner do the job to desensitize the rears, or is it best for a newbie to just take it to a shop and do a $500 tune. I have no experience with tuning and am brand new to this field. Any help is appreciated. I am in Columbus Ohio if you know of anyone nearby who likes to help with tuning.

Handhelds won't do this ----- However I do think that Diablo offers special tuning for requirements such as yours Typically you need HP or EFILIVE software to totally turn OFF all the rear 02 reporting ALSO you must DISABLE the CAT ovetemp system in your tune otherwise this ystem may false trigger where it dumps tons of fuel into your engine to cool off the cats--

if you're willing to spend 500 for a tune, just by some tuning software and do it yourself. I.E. hptuner, efi live etc etc...
