I failed to read the instructions carefully, and interupted the connection during Powerloader programming. Now the car won't start and has series of error msgs - reduce power, low fuel etc.
Could I have seriously jacked up my PCM? I have disconnected the negative terminal in hopes that it might all clear by tomorrow.
Thanks but looks like it doesn't work. I have to take the pcm out to reflash... arghhH!
Actually, just call your dealer and have them reflash it back to stock. They will not know anything is up. Just tell them that it took a dump on you, and they will read it with the Tech 2 and reflash it.
If you're worried about them possibly suspecting something, then take it to a local shop, besides a dealer, that has a Tech 2 tool.
Not to hit you while you're down, but why on earth did you buy a Powerloader with the better, less expensive options out there
Actually, the car doesn't even start. So, I can I just take the PCM to them to reflash. Powerloader was the only option 4yrs ago when I was bitten by that darn mod bug :) I am really thinking about doing Predator or LS1 Edit soon
Re: Help SERIOUS Powerloader Problem (ALLTHROTTLE&NOBOTTLE)
Just an FYI. So far, Steve Cole has been very proactive and responsive about helping me through this problem. It appears that PCM may be damaged and simple reflash from dealership will NOT solve my problem. As such, I am having to ship the PCM and powerloader to TTS to fix.
Please let us know if you receive it back by X-mas!
No, really though, I'm proud of Mr. Cole for actually putting his foot forward and offering you some reasonable customer service. Hopefully he will get you your pcm and Powerloader back w/in a week (it takes less than 30 min. to do what needs to be done).
FWIW, a reflash should fix the pcm entirely. I don't quite understand why he stated that, UNLESS his programming has locked to your pcm, like it normally does, which requires a dealer to have some specialty equipment, aside from just a Tech 2, to reset it.
