The battery on my 97 went dead and upon attaching the battery charger, the hood light, the inside lights and clicking sounds start. I reset the key fob. What can I do?
Do you have the Origional OEM battery???? If you do, that would be BAD! If not the battery is very low on charge and should be disconnected from the car and then place the terminals of charger directly on the battery terminals and let the battery charge disconnected for an hour or two on high rate charge. Then let it charge at a low rate charge for 3-4 hours. C5's do not like low voltage. The noise was relays trying to latch (turn on) but did not have enough voltage to operate properly. The headlight motors were probably having a hissy fit also.
Once the battery is fully charged clean the battery terminals and battery cables with a wire brush and reattach them. The terminals should be torqued in place at 11 ft/lbs.
