Is lowering the C5 on stock bolts worth it? Can you see the difference?
I want to lower my C5 Coupe in the front and back but I've heard that lowering on the factory bolts alone doesn't make that much difference in appearance!? Is this True!? Anyone with pics of lowering on factory bolts please post.
Oh yeah, any drivability issues afterwards (especially the front)!!?
Thanks guys!!

I lowered mine on the OE bolts and definately noticed the front end being lower.
If you're careful you shouldnt beach the car too badly. I drive my car every day. I do hit the flexible spoiler on the bottom but otherwise no big issues.

You can TOTALLY see the difference. As far as feel, it does feel quite a bit "sportier". Not harsh but not soft like before. I installed Bilstein Sports at the same time so I can't say if the increased stiffness is because of the shocks or the lowering. I don't seem to scrape on things that I didn't prior to lowering (if that makes sense), but I may just be being more careful.
I dropped ~1" in front and 1.25" in back (with the Z51 suspension)
I really regret not lowering on stock bolts a long time ago! DO IT!

It made a huge difference for me. I lowered the front end a couple weeks ago, but it had too much of a rake and lowered the rear this weekend.
It rides a bit stiffer, holds turns far better and doesn't look like a 4 wheeler anymore. I'm really happy with how mine turned out, it was just enough to make the new wheels and tires that are coming in this week look a lot better.
Lower it with the stock bolts and feel it out, if you want to go lower you can always cut the bushings after the fact.

The car looks much much sportier on lowered bolts. I have T1 springs and the bolts lowered to the max and I don't have any issues other than the front rubber spoiler rubbing when I go up or down steep driveways.
I don't believe lowering the bolts will give you any difference in ride quality but the car should handle better because you are lowering the center of gravity.
Try lowering it 3/4 of the way down and drive it for a while and if you need more you can always lower it further or raise it if you do not like it. It isn't a big job.
You won't regret it.

Without adding an appropiate shock, it is strictly for looks, you will hit the bump stops which if you drive agressively can be dangerous to your health, not to mention the structural well being of your C5.In simple terms every fraction you lower the car you have that much less travel in your shocks. At stock heights, stock shocks whether they be standard, Z51 or magnetic ride only have a limited amount of travel. If you like to push the car through the twisties, hitting a bumpstop at a corner apex can spell disaster. If I see a sign that says dangerous curve 35mph, I immediately see if I can take it at 70mph. At my age its one of the few thrills I have left...

Make sure you get an alignment after lowering or you'll ruin your tires. Wait until the car has settled 100 miles or so!

Lowering the suspension
My 1997 C5's rear ride hight is about 3" between the top of the tire and the wheel well opening. I'm very interested in lowering the opening to about 1". The 1st picture of the yellow convertible is close to the height of the rear of my car. Everyone mentioned lowering by adjusting the OE bolts(?). Where are these? I replaced the rear rotors and brake pads last weekend and noticed that the is a bolt on the lower A-Arm that had hash marks on it. Is this the bolt being referred to? If not, which one(s) are they?

97 lowered using stock bolts worked great
I replaced my springs and it raised my car to where i didn't like it so i lowered it using stock bolts worked great. I wouldn't want to lower it any more then what it is.
