Trickle Chargers
Has anyone used the trickle charger that plugs in the cigarette lighter to keep the computer powered up in case you need to disconnect the battery??

This is not necessary in most cases, as your radio presets will not be affected. I had my batter disconnected for 4 hours and when I reconnected it, all my presets were as they were before the battery disconnection. I'm not sure if this is the case with pre-2001 C5s, but it is with my 01.
